How Do I Know I Am Sick From Black Mold?

If you are living in an area where the relative humidity is above 55%, you are very much liable to health risks caused by toxic molds. Black Mold, also known as Stachybotrys Chartarum. Stachybotrys Chartarum is a greenish-black fungi found worldwide that colonizes particularly well in high-cellulose material such as straw, hay, wet leaves, dry wall, carpet, wall paper, fiber-board, ceiling tiles, thermal insulation, etc. The fungus, before drying, is wet and slightly slimy to touch. Stachybotrys is considered a toxic mold and is one of the major health risk providers.

What is Stachybotrys Mold?

Stachybotrys molds help to decay organic matter. The species known as Stachybotrys chartarum, sometimes referred to as Stachybotrys atra often grows indoors.
The ideal conditions for Stachybotrys growth include moisture, a nutrient/food source, temperature, and time. Ideal humidity for this black mold is a relative humidity of 90% or higher for it to begin the germination growth process. Stachybotrys feeds on materials with a high cellulose content such as hay, straw, wood chips, and building materials such as ceiling tile, drywall, paper vapor barriers, wallpaper, insulation backing, cardboard boxes, and paper files.

Why Is Stachybotrys The King Of Molds?

Unlike other molds like Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Cladosporium which begin growing within one to two days, Stachybotrys can take one to two weeks to begin growing. It is the King of Molds because Stachybotrys will develop into the dominant mold group if the conditions are favorable and will crowd out the other molds that began feeding on the material first.

How Does Stachybotrys Mold Spread?

Stachybotrys spreads by releasing spores and the growth of root-like tendrils called mycelia. It grows in clusters at the end of stem-like structures known as hyphae. If the material is wet, the spores do not disperse as easily into the air because the spores are held together by a sticky/slimy coating. However, when the material dries out or is disturbed, the spores will spread through the air. Since the spores can be dispersed and become airborne, it is very important that the remediation process of Stachybotrys infected materials is done following proper controls and contained to prevent further contamination.

Why is Stachybotrys Mold A Health Concern?

Stachybotrys is a health concern because animal studies have shown that low level exposure can suppress the immune system leading to bacterial and viral infections, coughing, skin irritation, and other allergic reactions. Further, medical evidence has proven that this mold has toxic properties because Stachybotrys produces a mycotoxin (i.e., poison from a fungus) named trichothecenes. Consequently, when it is inhaled or ingested Stachybotrys causes the following health conditions, with speculation that exposure can even promote cancer:Not only can mold destroy walls or ceilings where its spores proliferate but the damage to your body and lungs can be irreversible.• Other symptoms from mold exposure:

Sore/hoarse throat
• Cold and flu symptoms (headaches, slight fever, and muscle aches)
• Nosebleeds
• Tingling or burning of nose, mouth, and perspiration areas (under the arms or between the legs)
• Chronic fatigue
• Dizziness
• Nausea/vomiting
• Memory loss
• Attention deficit/concentration problems
• Personality changes such as irritability or depression
• Neurological disorders such as tremors
• Hair loss
• Coughing with blood
• Bleeding in the lungs (hemosiderosis)
• Damage to internal organs including blood, liver, kidneys, and lungs

How Do I Find and Eliminate Mold?

Essential oils are the best option for addressing mold in buildings and the body. Using all natural, 100% organic, safe and effective therapeutic grade essential oils is the only non-toxic solution currently available.

Essential Oils are a natural substance that cannot be patented, are costly to produce, supplies are impacted by the weather, and when compared to drugs cannot be sold for anywhere near the same huge profits. Even though oils offer a better option, more powerful, faster-action, and actual healing not just suppressing symptoms, and they do all of this with almost no side-effects. No allopathic drug can claim or offer that kind of superior help and protection for you and your family.

Drugs all have negative side effects. Just listen to some of the commercials for pharmaceuticals. Have you ever noticed that the list of side effects usually includes the very symptoms you are trying to get rid of, and others, and “sometimes death.” That is the state of health care. The number one killer in the world is pharmaceutical drugs appropriately prescribed, according to research published in 2007 and revisited in 2010 (see the original 2007 article, “Death By Medicine, Part 1” and “Death By Medicine Part 2,” as well as the follow-up article, “Nearly 250,000 Deaths From One Common Mistake,” published in February, 2011 on Dr. Joseph Mercola’s website here:

There is another option that works far better and is less costly than doctors and pharmaceuticals. If you are one of the people who has been impacted by mold, doing just a little research will tell you that most doctors don’t even recognize that mold is the cause or a contributing factor in illness and disease. That is beginning to change, but why wait when mold can and does kill the organisms it infests? There is a better way to deal with mold, a secret weapon.

What is that secret weapon? First…it is important that you know that unless you clear your space, your living and working environment, of mold, you will never be free of it and the negative impacts it has on your health. So, if you either know or believe you are being impacted by mold, the first thing to do is start diffusing essential oils in your home and work space. A air filter like the AIRSCRUBBER helps to also clean the air.

Poor thyroid function has been linked to

Poor thyroid function has been linked to serious health conditions like fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, acne, eczema, gum disease, infertility, and autoimmune diseases.

The thyroid is one of the largest endocrine glands in our body and influences almost every cell and function in our body. It regulates metabolism and weight by controlling the fat-burning process.

Thyroid hormones are involved in growth and development and in nearly every physiological process in your body. If our thyroid levels are out of balance, so are we.
The Thyroid Gland: The thyroid is responsible for producing the master metabolism hormones that control every function in our body. It produces three types of hormones:
·     Triiodothyronine (T3)
·     Thyroxine (T4)
·     Diiodothyronine (T2)
Hormones secreted by our thyroid interact with all your other hormones, including insulin, cortisol, and the sex hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. To drive home this point, if your thyroid is out of balance, you are out of balance.

Almost 90 percent of the hormone produced by your thyroid is in the form of T4, the inactive form. Your liver then converts the T4 into T3, the active form, with the help of an enzyme. This is why liver health is so important for thyroid function.  So is the gut, because some conversion takes place there also. T2 is the least-understood component of thyroid function and the subject of a number of ongoing studies.
If everything is working properly, you will have the correct amounts of T3 and T4, which control the metabolism of every cell in your body. If your T3 is inadequate, either by scarce production or not converting properly from T4, your entire health and wellness suffers. T3 is critically important.  One of its functions is to tell the nucleus of the cells to send messages to your DNA to increase metabolism by burning fat. This is how T3 lowers cholesterol levels, regrows hair, and helps maintain a proper weight.
Your T3 levels can be disrupted by nutritional imbalances, toxins, allergens, infections, and stress, and this lead to a series of complications, including thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism, and hyperthyroidism, which today are three of the most prevalent thyroid-related diseases.
Hypothyroidism occurs when your thyroid produces too little thyroid hormone, a condition that is often linked to iodine deficiency. David Brownstein, MD has been testing the thyroid and iodine for the last two decades. He states over 95 percent of the patients in his clinic are iodine deficient.
Many people are hypothyroid and go untreated because of misinterpretation and misunderstanding of lab tests, particularly TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). Physicians are taught if your TSH value is within the “normal” range, your thyroid is fine. More and more physicians are now discovering that the TSH value is grossly unreliable for diagnosing hypothyroidism.
Many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism are subtle and overlap with other conditions. Taking of the temperature is one way to access basal body temperature and general metabolism.  The axillary temperature is taught to be the most reliable for thyroid function.  Baroda Barns MD taught 97.8 – 98.2 is optimal.  Less than that is thought to be hypothyroid.  Iodine and thyroid nutritional support should be considered if low, along with detoxification and liver support.
Let’s look at some of the other symptomatic expressions of low thyroid:
·     Lethargy and Fatigue and a general lack of energy are typical signs of thyroid dysfunction. Depression has also been linked to low thyroid function. Anyone diagnosed with depression should be tested for hypothyroid.
Not all tiredness or lack of energy can be blamed on a dysfunctional thyroid gland. Thyroid-related fatigue begins to appear when you cannot sustain energy long enough, especially when compared to a past level of fitness or ability. Other areas of possible thyroid dysfunction are listed below.

Homemade Cold, Flu and Cough Remedies

Do you feel like a walking Nyquil commercial.  Sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever…….  and no rest.

Avoid taking OTC (or prescription for that matter) medicine for cold because they only mask the symptoms. Many have a laundry list of side-effects and many of those medications interfere with other medications or are just plain dangerous when mixed.  Remember, there are more deaths from drug interactions than from diseases.  With OTC medications,  you may be left jittery yet sleepy and every time you try to fall asleep you jerk quickly awake, dry mouthed yet still “drippy”.

Try these recipes that we have used for many years that get us through  allergy, cold, or flu.

Are your Hormonal Issues Due To Estrogen Dominance?

Estrogen Dominance: Causes and Remedies

Dr. Ray Peat, a pioneer in the field of natural hormone therapy, coined the term “Estrogen Dominance” to describe what happens when the normal ratio or balance of estrogen to progesterone is changed by excess estrogen or inadequate progesterone. Estrogen can be potentially dangerous when not counter-balanced by adequate progesterone.

While hot flashes and night sweats are classically a sign of decreased estrogen levels in the body, the answer may not be as simple as taking synthetic or even natural estrogen. It is possible that estrogen levels are low, but rarely does a case exist where the levels of progesterone are not also just as low or lower.

Healing Crisis: When It’s Good to Feel Bad

It is not uncommon for individuals to suffer from detoxification reactions when they begin a program of natural healing.

The healing crisis is very natural and unique for each individual. The vast majority experience very mild symptoms while others experience severe issues. The individual should understand that these symptoms are temporary and will subside as the body gets healthier and able to eliminate toxins more effectively. Symptoms usually reduce or are eliminated within two to three days but on rare occasions can last a few weeks.
