How Do I Know I Am Sick From Black Mold?

If you are living in an area where the relative humidity is above 55%, you are very much liable to health risks caused by toxic molds. Black Mold, also known as Stachybotrys Chartarum. Stachybotrys Chartarum is a greenish-black fungi found worldwide that colonizes particularly well in high-cellulose material such as straw, hay, wet leaves, dry wall, carpet, wall paper, fiber-board, ceiling tiles, thermal insulation, etc. The fungus, before drying, is wet and slightly slimy to touch. Stachybotrys is considered a toxic mold and is one of the major health risk providers.

What is Stachybotrys Mold?

Stachybotrys molds help to decay organic matter. The species known as Stachybotrys chartarum, sometimes referred to as Stachybotrys atra often grows indoors.
The ideal conditions for Stachybotrys growth include moisture, a nutrient/food source, temperature, and time. Ideal humidity for this black mold is a relative humidity of 90% or higher for it to begin the germination growth process. Stachybotrys feeds on materials with a high cellulose content such as hay, straw, wood chips, and building materials such as ceiling tile, drywall, paper vapor barriers, wallpaper, insulation backing, cardboard boxes, and paper files.

Why Is Stachybotrys The King Of Molds?

Unlike other molds like Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Cladosporium which begin growing within one to two days, Stachybotrys can take one to two weeks to begin growing. It is the King of Molds because Stachybotrys will develop into the dominant mold group if the conditions are favorable and will crowd out the other molds that began feeding on the material first.

How Does Stachybotrys Mold Spread?

Stachybotrys spreads by releasing spores and the growth of root-like tendrils called mycelia. It grows in clusters at the end of stem-like structures known as hyphae. If the material is wet, the spores do not disperse as easily into the air because the spores are held together by a sticky/slimy coating. However, when the material dries out or is disturbed, the spores will spread through the air. Since the spores can be dispersed and become airborne, it is very important that the remediation process of Stachybotrys infected materials is done following proper controls and contained to prevent further contamination.

Why is Stachybotrys Mold A Health Concern?

Stachybotrys is a health concern because animal studies have shown that low level exposure can suppress the immune system leading to bacterial and viral infections, coughing, skin irritation, and other allergic reactions. Further, medical evidence has proven that this mold has toxic properties because Stachybotrys produces a mycotoxin (i.e., poison from a fungus) named trichothecenes. Consequently, when it is inhaled or ingested Stachybotrys causes the following health conditions, with speculation that exposure can even promote cancer:Not only can mold destroy walls or ceilings where its spores proliferate but the damage to your body and lungs can be irreversible.• Other symptoms from mold exposure:

Sore/hoarse throat
• Cold and flu symptoms (headaches, slight fever, and muscle aches)
• Nosebleeds
• Tingling or burning of nose, mouth, and perspiration areas (under the arms or between the legs)
• Chronic fatigue
• Dizziness
• Nausea/vomiting
• Memory loss
• Attention deficit/concentration problems
• Personality changes such as irritability or depression
• Neurological disorders such as tremors
• Hair loss
• Coughing with blood
• Bleeding in the lungs (hemosiderosis)
• Damage to internal organs including blood, liver, kidneys, and lungs

How Do I Find and Eliminate Mold?

Essential oils are the best option for addressing mold in buildings and the body. Using all natural, 100% organic, safe and effective therapeutic grade essential oils is the only non-toxic solution currently available.

Essential Oils are a natural substance that cannot be patented, are costly to produce, supplies are impacted by the weather, and when compared to drugs cannot be sold for anywhere near the same huge profits. Even though oils offer a better option, more powerful, faster-action, and actual healing not just suppressing symptoms, and they do all of this with almost no side-effects. No allopathic drug can claim or offer that kind of superior help and protection for you and your family.

Drugs all have negative side effects. Just listen to some of the commercials for pharmaceuticals. Have you ever noticed that the list of side effects usually includes the very symptoms you are trying to get rid of, and others, and “sometimes death.” That is the state of health care. The number one killer in the world is pharmaceutical drugs appropriately prescribed, according to research published in 2007 and revisited in 2010 (see the original 2007 article, “Death By Medicine, Part 1” and “Death By Medicine Part 2,” as well as the follow-up article, “Nearly 250,000 Deaths From One Common Mistake,” published in February, 2011 on Dr. Joseph Mercola’s website here:
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/02/04/death-by-medicine-an-update.aspx).

There is another option that works far better and is less costly than doctors and pharmaceuticals. If you are one of the people who has been impacted by mold, doing just a little research will tell you that most doctors don’t even recognize that mold is the cause or a contributing factor in illness and disease. That is beginning to change, but why wait when mold can and does kill the organisms it infests? There is a better way to deal with mold, a secret weapon.

What is that secret weapon? First…it is important that you know that unless you clear your space, your living and working environment, of mold, you will never be free of it and the negative impacts it has on your health. So, if you either know or believe you are being impacted by mold, the first thing to do is start diffusing essential oils in your home and work space. A air filter like the AIRSCRUBBER helps to also clean the air.
